Progress takes discipline, and a shared commitment to something greater than you. Strategic communications via advocacy bring those ideas to life. I focus on advancing healthcare communities—ensuring that communication and technology translate into clearer decisions, stronger systems, and better outcomes for the people they serve.

About a decade ago, I began to rethink what scale actually means. Traditional communication strategies weren’t built for the systemic change happening in healthcare, so I asked a different question: what if communication were driven by data, aligned with industry forces, and designed to shift market framing? Could it accelerate platform adoption, improve workflows, enhance safety, and lower costs?
At the time, the HITECH Act (2009, with major adoption between 2010–2015) was driving rapid investment in electronic medical records, alongside a growing emphasis on interoperability. The opportunity wasn’t to communicate more, but to communicate differently, grounded in data and built to influence real-world adoption and outcomes.
It raised a few questions:
1. What if the path to adoption wasn’t just through sales but through legislation, policy, and shared frameworks?
2. Could data or product insights be used to drive or develop this level of messaging? Could they contribute to discussions in Sacramento or Washington, shaping how value is understood at scale?
Over time, what became clear is that in the healthcare ecosystem, advocacy matters.
The systems are complex. The communities are complex. If we want stronger, more connected care, we have to be willing to bring forward a cohesive story: grounded in data and carried into where decisions are made.
With the rise of AI and many companies looking to remove humans from clinical decision-making, this conversation matters more than ever.
Vocera / Stryker - 2021
I built the digital experiences that brought leading healthcare systems into a focused conversation on clinician burnout, safety, and workload—capturing and elevating the realities faced by nursing teams and care staff.
Those stories were then translated into materials used in discussions with legislators, connecting frontline conditions to policy-level decision-making. What this work enabled:
Aligned with Legislative Funding Priorities
Identified where investment was being directed toward technologies that reduce nursing burden, including communication and voice solutions.
Supported Legislative Awareness and Momentum
Contributed to advocacy efforts aligned with national focus on clinician well-being, including discussions that informed legislation such as the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act (2022).
